Meet Kwesi Isles (aka bakannal). A 31-year-old reporter with the Guyana Times. He likes reading, writing drinking vodka ’til the joggers come out, bacchanalia, soca, brainy women, sex, daydreaming, old soul, neo-soul, roti and curry and arithmetic. This Gemini-born hunk is happily yoked to ___________ and has no fear of commitment. Most of his working hours are spent running behind idiots politicians.  He does not play, he is a serious motherfucker too busy trying to make money. And keep it. Kwesi has  literary aspirations but is too lazy, cowardly busy trying to make money. And keep it.  He does not sleep before midnight, and ever so often not before 4.am. He spends those hours either in coital frenzy, watching movies or imagining the fame that will come his way once he is published.

Pay no mind to the haughty tilt of the head, or the serious visage; he is a nice fella.  This ‘red’-complected, brown-eyed stallion, spawn of Douglas and Dawn, is on the brink of something. He is not sure what.

Stay tuned.

    Hi Kwesi,
I came accross your blog cause I was intringuished by your pseudo “bakannal” which I saw on cariblogger, and which also is a kreyol (patois) word. I was amazed because you use bakannal in the kreyol writing system. Your blog itself and its topics look interesting.
    Ciao.
